#1 Song on Your Date of Birth

Posted: November 17, 2006 by jgrantmarshall in Uncategorized

A friend on MySpace posted a bulletin about this… I know, and I actually did it.  Anyway, she posted a link to where you can enter any date and find out what the number 1 song was on the either the American or British charts.

Until this point in my life, I had no idea that the #1 song the day I was born was, “Love Rollercoaster” by Ohio Players

What was #1 when you were born?

This is a 15 minute video that I have created of Grant’s year in soccer… I wonder if it will kill my page?

I think I will have to pledge my goodness for several upcoming years for this (I believe this is called goodness debt): I just purchased an Xbox 360!  This new gaming console is completely blowing my socks off for the number of things it can do.  Besides playing games, it also connects to my home network and streams my home videos and digital pictures and MP3’s.  I haven’t had a console since the original PlayStation and I am simply stunned at how this had evolved!  Connecting to my home theater system, the Xbox 360 is a multimedia entertainment powerhouse.  Grant doesn’t know it exists yet because we are waiting until Christmas to unveil it to him, but I am also excited to introduce him to this staple of manhood!  We have already received some “donations to the cause” from other family members, so perhaps as a huge community gift, this won’t be sooooo expensive… that’s how I’m trying to justify it to Nat hehehe!

OK, I NEED your opinions!  I opened up this account almost a year ago and at that time, WordPress just couldn’t compete with MSN Spaces for features and “tweak-ability”.  This year, I am surprised at how far WordPress has come and have found that it may even surpass Spaces.  My big problem, lately, with Spaces is that it just seems to CRAWL.  With a high speed connection, it still takes 15-30 seconds to load.  Ridiculous!  I really like some of the tweaks I have been able to do with WP and now with Flickr integration, I don’t see any reason why I should stay with Spaces.

What do you think of this WordPress blog?  Is speed better for you than on Spaces?  Have I changed websites too many times already?  Let me know what you think!

With playing with my blog, I have been made aware of  This is the gadget to the left which allows Instant Messaging (IM) on my blog.  This is also cool because it allows me to enter account info for ALL of my other IM utilities and lets me check all of these, at once, from ANY computer on the internet (no download of multiple IM clients = good for workplace).  I plan to add this service to my bookmark list and test it out for awhile.
