Oregon Zoo

On Wednesday, we drove up to Portland to visit the Oregon Zoo.  We saw many animals and had a great time.  I really like how the Oregon Zoo makes their displays intereactive so that you are not just viewing animals in a cage.  Grant’s favorites were the bats, the bald eagles and the bird show.  Natalie liked the giraffes and I liked the new Cascade Canyon Trail.

Speaking of animals, my mother-in-law recently introduced us to Africam (http://www.africam.com/nkhoro_cam1.php).  This is a free web cam showing an African watering hole.  It is really interesting to see a different continent in real-time.  Remember that there is a time difference, so for best viewing, visit the site late in the evening in North America.

Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, you have to go watch the Battle at Kruger… you’ll never believe how this one ends!
