I have heard it is possible but have never seen it in action…

Rock band AC/DC, in an effort to promote their latest single, have released a spreadsheet.

No, really!

It is an Excel spreadsheet that “plays” a snippet of their new song, “Rock’n Roll Train”.

From their website,
“AC/DC smashes through your firewall with
real rock ‘n’ roll! Download the spreadsheet
to watch the Rock N Roll Train video in all
it’s Low Definition™ glory!

Here is a YouTube video of the spreadsheet in action:

I bet this is the coolest thing you’ve seen all day!

Check out this run…

ASU Players, this is why your coach tells you not to stop until the whistle blows.  As a Duckfan, I love the final few seconds where it shows a player that looks like a linebacker with a look like, “Wha… he is down, right?”

Go Ducks!

Pumpkin Patch

Here’s a quick video that I slapped together of our trip to the pumpkin patch at Lone Pine Farm, near Eugene, OR.  It was a really nice day and the crowds were pretty light, so a pretty remarkable day!  The weather was so nice that we decided to walk out to the patch instead of taking the horse-drawn cart.

Kickers Win

Today was a big day for the Kickers as they won their game, 2-0.  They played pretty well as a team and spent most of the game near the other team’s goal.  Cooper knocked the first one in and Grant booted the second one into the goal.  We have only 2 more practices and one more game this season.  It is too bad because I think a lot of the First Graders are just now getting it.  Oh, well… it will give us something to look forward to in the Spring!

Another Tie Game

Last Saturday’s game ended in another tie, 1-1, which, as a spectator, is a lot better than 0-0!  The opposing team scored early during a bit of confusion near the goal.  The Kickers were able to tie it up, though, toward the end of the game.  Again, we were treated to a bit of teamwork by the Kickers as they passed the ball to each other to move it up the field.  It is a nice change to the usual scrum that happens when the kids just chase the ball around in a pack!  Grant played hard, played great defense and had numerous shots at the goal.

Kickers Win

In last night’s soccer game, our Kickers won 2-1.  The team played very well and were definitely the more aggressive team.  The first goal scored was practically in slow motion and only went in because the opposing team’s goalie didn’t pick up the ball at her ankles.  Grant had one go in the goal, but it was taken away because he kicked it from inside the semi-circle surrounding the goal/goalie.  This is a new rule this season.

For fun, I have added a poll to this post just because it is a new option available to me!

Pumpkin Patch

Today, since it wasn’t raining, yet, we made our annual pilgrimage to Lone Pine Farm to pick out our Halloween pumpkin.  The weather was actually pretty nice, although the wind was chilly.  We arrived about 1230 and walked around checking out the sights.  We visited with the goats, but none of them wanted much to do with us since we didn’t bring quarters to buy chow to hand to them.  Grant wasn’t all that interested in the side activities and wanted to get down to business picking out pumpkins.  Since the weather was so nice and it wasn’t muddy, either, we decided to walk to the pumpkin patch instead of taking the horse-drawn carriage.  As you can see in the picture, I had Allie in our new backpack (thanks, Craigslist!) and I pushed Grant in the wheel barrow (dad-drawn carriage).  It didn’t take us very long to find the perfect 22 lb. pumpkin in the field packed with various sizes.  On our way back, we stopped to take a bunch of pictures (check Flickr gallery, if you’re interested).  We finished our day at the patch with Grant playing on the playground while Allie had a bite to eat in the car.

Let the holidays begin!
