Arrrrgggghhh…

Posted: November 30, 2007 by jgrantmarshall in automobile

On Tuesday night, Nat asked that I stop and pick up a pizza. As I pulled in to the parking spot, I noticed a bit of steam on the hood of the Jeep. I thought to myself, “Hmmm, I don’t remember seeing that the last time it was raining” and as I stepped out of the Jeep I smelled the unmistakable scent of antifreeze. I looked underneath and, yes, it was my Jeep gushing antifreeze. Well, to shorten this story up, I took it in to the mechanic and we had to have the thermostat and water pump replaced… along with the various gaskets and hoses. All I can say is that I wish I worked on cars instead of computers… Ouch, that was expensive! Merry Christmas & goodbye kicker check…

A New Christmas Song

To get you in the mood for Christmas, 2007 style, I have uploaded a new MP3.  Grant and I found an online karaoke website, ksolo.com, where we sang to the Frosty the Snowman background track.  He assured me that he knew the song, but I think he meant “knew of” the song… I apologize in advance that it is mostly me singing (you’ve now been warned).

Christmas Lights at Shore Acres State Park

Posted: November 25, 2007 by jgrantmarshall in Uncategorized

We just got back home from an impromptu drive to the Oregon Coast where we found that the Holiday Lights Display at Shore Acres had started.  Below is a movie from the lights and there are some digital stills in my Flickr album (to the right).

We ate a late lunch at Mo’s (clam chowder for me… yum), climbed a sand dune (ran wildly back down), went to the beach, went to visit the seal overlook and finally went to the lights.  We had a great time but I think I tired Natalie and Grant out too much because they each came straight home and went to sleep.  I am not tired yet, so, lucky you, I shared the day’s activities with the world!

New Podcasts

For those who haven’t subscribed to the RSS feed of my podcast and thus don’t know already… I have posted 2 new podcasts to http://jgrantmarshall.podbean.com/

The first is Side B of the previous tape from 1984 and this one features us singing campfire songs… I am 8 years old.

The second was a project that Natalie did for a college course which has family members singing songs of personal significance.

Both are fun to look back on now.  I especially like, “My name is Kayti; and I like to play with my dollies.” in the middle of the campfire songs.

Baby’s Heartbeat

Posted: November 3, 2007 by jgrantmarshall in baby

Yesterday, Natalie had an appointment with the Doctor where she was able to hear our baby’s heartbeat for the first time.  Smartly, she brought a tape recorder with her and recorded the session.  (I know, I said tape… weird.)  Anyway, I digitized and posted to my free podcasting host site.  You can get to the mp3 here.  (You can rt-clk the link and save link as if you want to download the mp3 to your computer.)

I don’t plan on actively podcasting, but you can check out that site at http://jgrantmarshall.podbean.com/ …or if you’re into the RSS thing, you can subscribe, here.
